BRIAN’S GO-TO LIVE PRESETS FOR LINE 6, FRACTAL, AND QUAD CORTEX
These are Brian’s go-to live presets. They feature Clones, Captures, and Tone Match IR’s of his favorite amps – his ’94 Matchless C-30 and his Matchless Clubman 35. You can choose which of these combinations you like best :).
These amps sound phenomenal on their own, but together in stereo they are magic.
LINE 6 STADIUM (PROXY)
For Stadium and Stadium XL, we’ve cloned the amps using Proxy. The Stadium downloads include both presets and Proxy amp+cab clones. Includes four (4) presets and six (6) amp clones, giving you options for which amps you’d like to pair as well as different gain staging (clean vs edge of breakup)
TONE MATCH (Gen 2) PATCHES (Applies to Line 6 and Fractal presets only)
These are part of our ‘Tone Match’ line of patches. To create these patches, we make custom IR’s that ‘match’ the HX and Fractal amp models to our real-world amp. The result is the Line 6 and Fractal units sound almost exactly like our actual amplifiers.
The ‘Gen2’ indicates a new process we’ve used when Tone Matching our amplifiers that takes more of the amplifier’s cab and speaker into account, resulting in a more accurate tone match impulse response.
PRESETS INFO
The pack includes fully featured presets designed for both single coil and humbucker equipped guitars.
We’ve delivered two sets of presets. You get multiple signal chain options for when, like Brian, you just can’t decide what you like best :).
- A Preset Types – the original ‘Brian Signature’ presets, which feature all the wet effects into the front of the amps.
- B Preset Types – These have the mods and wet effects after the amps.
Both signal flow types sound great, but it’s just up to your preference which one you like best. The delays and reverbs are dialed in differently in each type to compensate for where they are in the signal chain.
SNAPSHOTS/SCENES
Our presets include Snapshots for instant access to a wide variety of tones, including clean sounds, ambient tones, driven, lead, and high gain sounds, and modulated tones.
NOTES:
- The ‘LIVE’ presets have most of stereo effects in front the amp blocks. This will create a different type of sound, especially when the big delays and reverbs hit the amps with gain in front of them. You can choose which layout you like best.
- The HX Stomp folder includes ‘FX” presets. These presets include the additional effects blocks from the full Helix version.
- The HX Stomp presets do not include Snapshots.
- Quad Cortex does not include the ‘Live’ version of the presets
QUAD CORTEX
The demos above were created with the all-in-one presets included with this purchase. These presets utilize the amp captures, and no external effects were used – all QC effects blocks and captures. Captures are V1.
QUAD CORTEX – HOW DO YOU GET THE CAPTURES?
When you place your order, we will need to manually send you the captures through the ‘Cortex Cloud’ app by Neural DSP, available for both iOS and Android devices. First, you need to have the app installed and you must have an account through the app (go here to create an account and access the app).
This is how we will send you the captures:
- Please include your Cortex Cloud app username in the ‘Notes’ field when checking out. If you do not include this, we cannot send you the captures. After we receive your order, we (SignalTheory) will follow you on the app.
- Follow ‘SignalTheory’ on the Cortex Cloud app. This will make us ‘friends’ through the app :). If you are not following us, we cannot send you the captures.
- After we receive your order, and we ‘Friends’ on the app, we will send you the captures through the app. We bundle the captures into presets, so you will receive one (or more) presets that include all the captures. You will find the captures in the ‘Shared with me’ section on your Quad Cortex.
- Please allow up to 5 business days for us to send you the captures. Most orders will be fulfilled within two business days or less. This fulfillment process must happen manually – we will do our best to get you the files quickly. Once the NDSP marketplace opens, this process may change.

Love, love, love… this preset! Sounds great with HB but seems to be a match made in single coil heaven. If I’m playing my Strat, this is my go-to preset. Great stereo field and if you stand out front of the PA, you can literally hear the two amps, L&R, blended perfectly. Knopfler chime to crunchy as a bag of pork rinds.

The irs really make all the difference in the HX Stomp. The cabs in this pack sound really great and work really well in stereo. The effects are a little limited with HX Stomp because of dsp but it’s nice all the original effects blocks from the helix preset are provided so you can favorite them and then mix and match. Everything in the preset is very usable and there’s a good eq block set up well for live on Sunday morning. I really like everything from Signal Theory, some of the best amp captures and presets I can find.

The sound man went on the mic and said hey whatever you did with your sound the tones sound so much different and better. Dont forget to keep generating product for praise and worship the church needs this excellence.

Great set of presets! The quality for the Neural product is great. I always find it intrigueing to see how others set their personal presets. These captures pair so well together. I have ended up using the secondary amps along with other captures to add heft and definition to the tonal brew. Don’t sleep on the drive captures either. Great group of captures and presets.

I just got Brian’s OG Helix presets for my HX stomp and the Helix Native plugin. I’ve been recording guitars with his preset for a worship album lately, and I must say, my guitar tracks sound like they’re mixed already. All the effects have just the right amount of blend and sits just right in the mix, present but not overpowering the vocals. Saved me the time trying to tweak my tone so I could focus on what to track!
The live presets are also great, and serves as a really good “tutorial” on how to set up snapshots and signal chain for great tone.
