Description
TONE MATCH PRESETS, CAPTURES, AND PROFILES
Our vintage 1962 B-Master is a beautiful example of a highly sought after vintage gem from the Brown Panel era. These amps deliver beautifully warm and lush high headroom clean tones, perfect as a pedal platform. If you’re looking for classic vintage and slightly mid-forward tone, this is the one.
We’ve cloned, captured, profiled, and tone-matched the amp through multiple different cabinets with world-class microphones and preamps.
LINE 6 STADIUM (PROXY)
For Stadium and Stadium XL, we’ve cloned the amp using Proxy. The Stadium downloads include both presets and a full set of 24 Proxy clones.
TONE MATCH PATCHES (Applies to Line 6 HX and Fractal presets)
These are part of our ‘Tone Match’ line of patches. To create these patches, we make custom IR’s that ‘match’ the HX and Fractal amp models to our real-world amp. The result is the Line 6 and Fractal units sound almost exactly like our actual amplifiers.
The ‘Gen2’ indicates a new process we’ve used when Tone Matching our amplifiers that takes more of the amplifier’s cab and speaker into account, resulting in a more accurate tone match impulse response.
PRESETS INFO
(Applies to Line 6 HX, Fractal, Quad Cortex units)
The pack includes 2 sets of presets (each with SC and HB options). The presets are labeled ‘A’ and ‘B’, and feature different approaches to signal chain and amp channels.
‘A PRESETS: The ‘A’’ presets feature two amp blocks set up in a stereo pair with all the wet effects feeding into the amps. Think of it like running a large stereo pedalboard into two amplifiers set on the ‘edge of breakup’.
‘B’ PRESETS: In the ‘B’ presets, the modulation, delay, and reverb effects are placed after the single (mono) amplifier block. This replicates a studio setting where all the modulation, delay, and reverb effects are applied after the amplifier.
SNAPSHOTS/SCENES
Our presets include Snapshots for instant access to a wide variety of tones, including clean sounds, ambient tones, driven, lead, and high gain sounds, and modulated tones.
NOTES:
- The HX Stomp, POD Go, and FM3 folders include ‘FX” presets. These presets include the additional effects blocks from the full Helix/Axe-FX versions. Because these units have signal flow and DSP limitations, they are not as fully featured as the flagship units.
- Fractal AM4 presets include a block library download that gives you access to many of our favorite effects already dialed in.
- POD GO & AM4 Users: Because POD Go cannot utilize two amp blocks in a single preset, we’ve delivered one set of presets.
- The HX Stomp presets do not include Snapshots/Scenes.
IR Cab Labels:
- PB = ’62 Piggyback 2×12 cab
- SPR = ’66 Super Reverb 4×10 cab
CAPTURES & PROFILES
(Applies to Line 6 Stadium, TONEX, Quad/Nano Cortex, Kemper)
The captures increase through the entire gain range of the amp. We’ve delivered 24 total captures, including three speaker options as well as direct captures.
The captures are numbered, and the number corresponds to the level of gain in the tone model. Lower numbers equal lower gain, and higher numbers equal higher gain. Typically a ‘2’ or ‘3’ is the ‘edge of breakup’, and is the perfect option to use with pedals.
TONEX, Quad Cortex, and Kemper are all using the ‘V2’ capture process/technology
NAM:
All NAM captures are A2 captures – includes all cab options as well as direct.
Capture Labels:
- V = Vibrato channel
- N = Normal channel
- PB = ’62 Piggyback 2×12 cab
- SPR = ’66 Super Reverb 4×10 cab
- Dir = Direct (no cab)
QUAD/NANO CORTEX V2 Captures & Presets – HOW DO YOU GET THE CAPTURES?
When you place your order, we will need to manually send you the captures through the ‘Cortex Cloud’ app by Neural DSP, available for both iOS and Android devices. First, you need to have the app installed and you must have an account through the app (go here to create an account and access the app).
This is how we will send you the captures:
- Please include your Cortex Cloud app username in the ‘Notes’ field when checking out. If you do not include this, we cannot send you the captures. After we receive your order, we (SignalTheory) will follow you on the app.
- Follow ‘SignalTheory’ on the Cortex Cloud app. This will make us ‘friends’ through the app :). If you are not following us, we cannot send you the captures.
- After we receive your order, and we ‘Friends’ on the app, we will send you the captures through the app. We bundle the captures into presets, so you will receive one (or more) presets that include all the captures. You will find the captures in the ‘Shared with me’ section on your Quad Cortex.
- Please allow up to 5 business days for us to send you the captures. Most orders will be fulfilled within two business days or less. This fulfillment process must happen manually – we will do our best to get you the files quickly. Once the NDSP marketplace opens, this process may change.
THE CAB OPTIONS
With this amp, we wanted to offer you the experience of playing through various different cabinets, as each cab brings out unique qualities of the amplifier.
- PB = 1962 Piggyback 2×12 cab, original Oxford and Alessandro GA12-SC64 speakers. This cab is warmer/smoother and a bit more scooped.
- SPR = 1966 Super Reverb 4×10, original Oxford 10″ speakers. This cab has more midrange and punch
CAB DETAILS
- For capture units (Stadium/Proxy, TONEX, Quad Cortex, and Kemper), you’ll get separate captures through each cab, as well as direct captures.
- For modeling units (Line 6 and Fractal), you’ll get separate Tone-Matched IR files which you can swap into the cab block(s) to switch cabs. There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ cab options – simply audition each cab and pick your favorite (or mix/match them). You do not necessarily need to make any adjustments to the amp block(s) when switching IR cabs.

All of these guys’ profiles, captures, and presets are amazing… but I’m serious when I say that this pack is one of the BEST I’ve ever tried! It’s seriously something special…

I love this amp. It’s a monster! You guys put out some of the best captures out there. Can’t wait to use this on stage! Thank you for all you do.

Beefy, tight, this profile has a thickness that has a notch all it’s own. Used it Sun, the playback told me all I needed to hear, Riding in the mix with the bass guitarist, I’m pleased!!

So great to be able to have a unique and very cool amp from the early days of Fender! While it in some ways it resembles the other brownface amps, it definitely has its own voice. Already seeing how this will fit in nicely at church and as a wonderful addition for recording. Very happy indeed!

i will start with WOW! I needed someting for my worship set on the weekend and this is so it cant wait to bless the name of jesus with this this weekend!!!!

My first “real” amp back in the day that I bought used was a ’65 Fender Bandmaster head (blackface) and speaker cab with 2 x 12’s (Jensen C12N speakers I believe). I loved that amp. Fast forward to this capture, WOW!!! It so totally reminds me of the real one that I’m in shock! I was on the worship team this past weekend and I didn’t have enough time to set it up before hand. Now I wish that I had used it! Love this one!!!

I didn’t know this amp, there are so many ! But after reading your description and hearing your demo… there was no way not to try it myself and the decision was obvious ! And now the only thing that comes to me when asked to give a review is just ‘THANK YOU GUYS’ ! I love this amp, anything I try with it please me, and moreover, I can play it with all my guitars, with each one I will Keep the guitar character, and I have this feeling to get the best each guitar can produce, speaking about sound, obviously. And this is much more than what I was expecting.
Again, thank you, and however good this amp is, I know you will find even better than this, that I don’t know yet, and this is exciting and funny, means that there is always better than the best !

Great amp! Thanks for the patch guys!

The main base preset is super responsive and pretty accurate to what I believe this should sound like. I really like this one a lot and I don’t review often on clean sounds. This has an extra something about the way it was captured.
Paul Helstrom (verified owner) –
This is such a great amp and effect choices differing even between the A and B chains; it’s ranking up there as one of my main go-to’s and I’ve only had it a few days. The preset gives a lot of options for amp tweaking and switching in other OD’s, vrbs, etc.

Amò questi suoni vintage confezionati alla perfezione, fantastici

I love what Brian and Bradford do! I, like many worship guitarists, live in the EOB-sphere. I needed a great Fender tone and this delivers. I use ST and WT tones everyweek in my worship playing (Tonex platform).
God Bless the work of your hands my brothers!

veramente degli ottimi presets ben costruiti e bilanciati, pronti da suonare

Great! Wonderful platform to work with, very realistic feel and sound. I was fortunate enough to play thru an original silver face one of these in the mid 70’s and it’s just as real. Recommended

I used the new 62 b-master this last Sunday. All I can say is WOW!!!! Nailed this one.

62 B-master is an amazing preset!!!

This amp is soooo good. If you love a Bassman, you’ll totally dig it.

62B-Master . Awesome so far! I have only used the HB presets so far and the snapshots are quality useable presets. I don’t use the heavy ambient or the modulation presets. The clean and driven presets sounds amazing with my Les Paul. Looking forward to using the SC presets with my Tele and Strat. Thanks guys for your work that you put into these incredible patches!

Very nice patch. I just upgraded to stadium so I wanted to get a new stadium specific patch to take advantage of the new technology. This one did not disappoint. Love the A and B options!

So far.. loving the 62 Bmaster… also the free Vox ac30.. great preset! Very useful. Will definitely check out the other presets!
Hope to see more amps combo in a preset! Keep up the good work

For years I had a Bandmaster. The Axe FX preset is like the real thing. Sounds Awesome.

I bought this one to use a base for my cleaner setting such as rockabilly, pop/funk and blues rock where I don’t need the Marshall sound I got from the 1959Mars preset I got from thaw guys. It works perfectly. The amp has so much headroom and the pedals they selected for the drives are perfect for gain staging. This really works for me and I like it even better than the mars1959. My use case is early rock and roll, Elvis etc in a cover band.

The ‘62 B-Master sounds are fantastic. I have the Pod Go and it sound really good. Love how it brings out the mids without even tweaking the settings.
Play it using my Gretsch, Fender Strat and my Les Paul
The boys always do a very good job on all the tone packages
May God continue to bless your business endeavors

A solid block of STONE TONE! My Tele and Les Paul found a new friend!
Chris (verified owner) –
These are really really great. What’s so nice about these captures is how ‘ready to go’ they are. Plug in and ready to gig. Plus this amp is an absolute beast!! A must have.
Peter (verified owner) –
Great patch. Just had to tweak a little bit the low-end to remove ‘boominess’ through a very large PA-system and then it was ready to go for a fantastic live-sound.
gillespiewrga (verified owner) –
I’ve had the Proxy clones for a few months now, and they remind me of when I first played a late 60s Fender piggyback. It is a stunning sound with plenty of low end, but not woofy or flabby. However, these clones (and the real Bandmaster amp) don’t work for me: I prefer an amp with more sag and a different fundamental EQ. I think these clones would excel with Filter’trons or Strats. For me, using PAFs, weren’t a good fit.
Justin (verified owner) –
FANTASTIC sounding amp and captures! Playing them with my PRS Silver Sky, and couldn’t be more pleased!

The “B Master” is my favourite “Band Master” style amp, by far.
Highly recommended.
